Nigel Turner-Carroll
Award winning director and actor Nigel Turner-Carroll has always put an emphasis on creating new Australian work and taking this work abroad. Some of his credits include Director and Co-Creator of The Tap Pack North American tour and most recently featured on The West End after touring Berlin, Beijing and Edinburgh Fringe festival winning The Spirit of the Fringe Award. Writer and Director of Eireborne with seasons in Zurich and Hamburg and Australia. The Box Show Australian tour which also won Critics Pick at Sydney Fringe. Most recently Director and Co-Creator of all female drum sensation Drummer Queens which has played Australian capital cities this year.
Recently Associate Director on the David Walliams book adaptation to the stage The Midnight Gang, and choreographer for the staged version of David Walliams’ book Billionaire Boy. Associate Director on Wizard of Oz The Arena Experience, We Will Rock You and Resident Director on Grease the Arena Experience. He has also worked as Movement/Assistant Director on Melba the Musical, Assistant Director Funny Girl for Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
Nigel has also Directed and Co-Written production shows, among them are Gone Too Soon, playing many venues in Sydney as well as international cruise ships. Damn Good Divas Australian Tour, Mo Award winner for Best Production Show and nominated for Best Tribute Show at the ACE Awards. He has Directed and Co-Written multiple cabarets including Olympic gold medallist Matthew Mitcham’s cabaret, Twists and TurnsWinner-Best Cabaret and nominated Critics Choice Award Perth Fringe World, as well as his second show Under the Covers. Back to Bacharach, Starring Casey Donovan, Liza Meets Bassey and The Real Thingboth for Monique Montez.
Helping to build an arts culture at Kincoppal Rose-Bay he has directed both musicals and plays, Emil & The Detectives, The Light Burns Blue, Mary Poppins, Matilda, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.
Also staging pre-show and half time entertainment segments at the NRL Grand Final 2014, World Cup Cricket pre game 2015 and Carols in the Domain 2018/2020 as well as many other corporate clients some of which include Resorts World Sentosa, CBA, NSW Business Awards, Australian of the Year Awards and many more.
Nigel is a graduate of the N.I.D.A acting degree. Plays he has appeared in include Skylight, Step, The Birthday Boys, Thank you For Being a Friend, The Greening of Grace and The Motherfu#$er With the Hat. Musicals he has played include Hot Shoe Shuffle(Swing), Leader of the Pack (Nick), Saturday Night Fever (Gus), West Side Story (Bernardo) and Gallipolli as a featured aerialist and dancer for Sydney Theatre Company. He was nominated in 2012 and 2013 Sydney Theatre Awards for The Greening of Grace and The Motherfu#$er With the Hat and recipient of Glug Award 2013. Screen credits include: Bootmen, Wonderland, Doctor Doctor, Wakefield.
